Girl With Boy Troubles
Dear Guidance Guy,
I like this guy but he is almost always mean to me. When he is not we are laughing together. Sometimes he calls me names and sometimes it hurts my feelings. I don't know if he likes me or not or how to deal with it because I have three periods with him. Does he like me or not?

Dear Girl,
It seems like this guy is a bit on the immature side. He doesn't know how to handle himself around young ladies, and that doesn't seem like a good start to any kind of relationship. Whether he likes you or not isn't important. The only important thing is how you expect to be treated by other people. If this were a girl or anyone else you don't like, you probably wouldn't tolerate them calling you names. You would ignore them or tell them to knock it off. This is no different. You don't have to accept this treatment from anyone.
I want to be really firm with you on this now because this is the beginning of how you will act around guys for a long time. If you start this without respecting yourself, many people are going to walk all over you. But if you let the way you feel become the most important thing - more than any guy - you will COMMAND the respect you DESERVE. The worng people will fade away and the right ones will show up. It's a guarantee!
Don't let anyone push you around. You're better than that!
