New Year's Presents
Dear Guidance Guy,
I don't know what to get my friends for New Year. I know what kind of stuff they like but I don't have enough money to get them the presents they want. What should I do?

Dear Worried,
It's pretty unusual to give friends New Year's presents. I've never heard of this before. It also seems like this is something a parent would do for someone, not a friend. Then again, I've never heard of a parent buying New Year's presents either. Maybe in a part of the world where Christmas or Hanukah isn't celebrated...
It's nice that you want to be generous to your friends. You don't need to do anything for them, but a small gift certificate, or a soda next time you go out with them would be very nice. If you're good at some kind of craft and know how to make something, that would be great also. It really is the thought that counts.
