Dear Guidance Guy,

My best friend has a boyfriend. Her boyfriend and I got along well but then last year they broke up. He and I had a relationship. Then they went backtogether but he still wants something with me and I still want something with him. I don't know what to do.

Dear Confused,

There's no easy way out of this one. If you are honest with your friend you may lose the friendship. But if you aren't honest, you will definitely lose the friendship. She will find out about you and her boyfriend. It's a matter of when, not if.

The one who has the best part of the deal is the boy. He's relying on you keeping this a secret. He may be a nice guy, and maybe he's confused. But he's not doing the right thing. I suggest you tell your friend what's going on. Let her decide how she wants to handle this. She may decide she doesn't want him for a boyfriend anymore, since the best relationships are based on trust. And you may decide you don't trust him either. If he's having a relationship with two girls, maybe he's really having them with three? Or more?
