Dear Guidance Guy,

I really like this girl, I met her at my friends place after a party. I wanna go out with her. She kept on coming closer and closer and then snuggled up next to me a little bit. Does she like me? I don't really have the guts to ask her but I did, on AIM. I asked her if she really likes me as a friend or more. She said she doesn't know! What do I do?

Dear Apples,

If you're a younger teen, this is often the way it works. She's not sure of herself, so she does what she knows how to do, which is snuggle and smile. My guess is she likes you.

If you're not sure how to approach her, the on line way might be a good start. You can always ask her out someplace where there's something to do. Bowling, movies, mall, etc. This way you'll have something to focus on besides each other. You can even ask if she wants to study with you.

But to make this go any further you'll have to get your courage up and talk to her in person. That's the only way it works, my friend. Chatting is nice, but nothing takes the place of the real thing!
