Close With My Teacher
Dear Guidance Guy,
There`s one teacher at my school that I seem to have become really close to, but just in a friendly sort of way. Is it at all possible for a student and a teacher to become good friends and stay in contact? And should I tell the teacher that I think of them as a (kind of) friend?

Dear Confuzzled,
It is definitely possible for a student and teacher to have a close relationship. Every person - no matter who they are - has preferences for the kind of people they want to be around. It looks like you and this other teacher do well together.
You should know there is also a boundary line that teachers (at least the good ones) won't cross. If things get too personal or headed toward inappropriate contact, they will pull back from the student. But it doesn't seem like this is an issue for you.
I don't see a need for you to tell your teacher what you think of him/her. I sure he/she has already figured it out and is also enjoying the time with you. I'd leave that part of it alone.
Thanks for your letter,
The Guidance Guy
