On Line Third Wheel
Dear Guidance Guy,
I have these two friends who I like to chat with online. We all know each other outside of the internet, but we now live in different states and only see each other very little. Here's the thing. One of these friends is a girl, and the other is a boy. Whenever we are all talking together all they want to talk about is how much they love each other, and they have all these inside jokes and everything. When I ask them to explain the jokes, they won't, or they say they will tell me later and then never will.
Separate they are both really nice and I feel included, but when we are all talking together I fell extremely left out,
and get this feeling they don't want me there. I don't know what to do, I really don't want to lose them as friends, but I don't want to get in the way of their relationship. I could really use some help.
Third Wheel and Hating It

Dear Third Wheel,
This doesn't have to be an "either-or" situation. You can still be friends with them separately but decide to jump off the conversation when the two of them are together. It isn't very cool to make private jokes and be all "kissy-face" when another person is part of the conversation. But if you like them, just tell them the truth. It's more fun chatting one on one than feeling like the third wheel. And it worst comes to worst, let them pursue their relationship (if they are in different states from each other, that'll be interesting). You'll still have your local friends.
All The Best,
The Guidance Guy
