A "D" in Algebra
Dear Guidance Guy,
I have a D in algebra and I don't know how to tell my mom! What do I say? Do I justnot tell her until my grade gets better?

Dear Snibbles,
If you think your grade will get better and you have enough time to bring it up before report cards or progress reports, AND you think your teacher won't call home, you can try and keep it from her. But it seems like you are getting stressed out thinking about it. It might be easier to just tell her now and not have to always think about it. This way you can spend your energy on doing better in the class and not worrying about your mom.
If you're doing your best and still getting a D, tell her. The two of you might work on ways to get your grade up together. If you're not doing your best and getting a D, you can tell her that also. She might be upset, but she'll also see you as mature enough to admit a mistake. It's a very good start on growing up.
Your Pal,
The Guidance Guy
